Frequently asked questions
How do I join a friend’s room?
Open their invite link and enter a nickname. If you’ve opened Panic Pit separately, paste the invitation or enter the four-letter room code on the play screen. Your friend can find it at the top of the lobby.
How do I join from the installed app?
Open Panic Pit from your home screen, then use Paste invite or enter the room code. If your friend is nearby, tap Scan QR to join and point your camera at the QR code in their lobby. A link from a messaging app may open in your browser instead; you can play there too.
Do I need to download anything?
No. You can play in your browser on a laptop or phone. Adding Panic Pit to your home screen is optional. On iPhone, use your browser’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen. The lobby also offers instructions.
How do phone controls work?
Turn your phone sideways when you’re ready to play. Use the on-screen movement control and skill buttons. Each round’s briefing explains that game’s controls. Some minigames suit a keyboard better; check the touch support label in the lobby.
Why won’t the camera or Paste invite work?
Camera and clipboard access depend on your browser’s permissions. Allow camera access if you want to scan a QR. If pasting is blocked, touch and hold the room field and choose Paste. You can always type the room code instead.
I disconnected. Can I get back in?
Open the same invite link, enter the room code, or use Rejoin room if it appears. If the room is no longer there, ask your friend for a fresh invite. If problems continue, check your connection and try opening the link in your main browser rather than inside a messaging app.
Do I need an account? What about game packs?
You don’t need an account to play. Signing in is optional and lets purchased game packs stay with you across devices. A host’s pack covers the people in their room. For a missing purchase or payment issue, email support@panicpit.com.
Found something broken?
Panic Pit is made by one person. A little detail makes a bug much easier to track down.
- Which minigame or screen were you on?
- What happened, and what did you expect?
- Which phone or computer and browser were you using?
- A screenshot or short recording, if you have one.
Share it on Discord or email support@panicpit.com. Send payment or account details by email, not in a public channel.
